OBJECTIVE 

Sala Studio is a 220 sqm studio space focused on various interdisciplinary practices acting as a resource to further develop the creative community within Palma de Mallorca. We collaborate as well as invite both island side artists as well as international guests to the gallery space to share their perspective of our visions in common thru their practice.

 

We also offer project resources from a network of creative partners who work within contemporary audio / visual productions. Our space is modular in concept - some of our projects, clients and guest artists have used the space and archive vault as a gallery, music studio, costume / prop and wardrobe resource for editorial / online photoshoots, music video production, lectures and event / media / PR hosting location.

 

HISTORY

Located in the heart of Palma de Mallorca, Sala Studio stands tall in a re-invented once traditional bakery from the 19th century to now our newly opened studio space designed by Javier Viudez located in the Santa Catalina district. 

 

The challenge of rebuilding this studio space was to find creative ways to maintain our community connections. For two years we have invested our efforts in to merging the classic bakery feel of the space while creating an interdisciplinary arts location to bring forward thinking individuals together in this unique studio / workshop environment.

VISION

They create the problem and sell us the solution… The modern trap. We aim to better communicate  creative solutions on how to function within the modern format we are surrounded by, to not over-consume the problem or the solution sold.
